My dad can start the engine, but after that, the mower will not engage the drive system. Before transportation from one place to another, the mower would start normally with use of the switch and run all over the properity, but after transporting to another location, the mower refused to start the normal way, you can apply power to the motor, cylinoid it will crank, but you can not use the switch and you can not engage to drive. The deck was removed for service, and we have not been able to start since.
We have installed a new, "red, hot battery", so it not the battery. I was hoping that a wiring schematic would aid in my attempts - of course one is not to be found. (PS, when I sit in the seat, and try to start engine with a key, "it" will not start, but if I short across the cylinoid it will start, but it will not engage the drive.)
I am asking for my 85 year old dad and I'm sure if I don't get an answer it will be the death of me. Also, I just buried my husband last Saturday and I am totally blindsided by my dad's appearance at my door this AM asking the above questions!
Respectfully submitted, Sylvia Child's Crawford, Cypress Texas
