Hello forum my Carrier 58 PAV control broad flashing "reversed polarity" I have read that I need to switch wires but I really don't know wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I purchased a multimeter yesterday but know very little about it.
Thanks

I don't answer many questions here in this forum, but the title got my interest.

Assuming this unit has been operating normally for some time, and suddenly you have this error message of "reverse polarity", may be an indication of a wiring fault that has occurred in the building wiring, and not a problem in the unit.

So, be careful and have the wiring to the unit checked before you just start swapping any wiring.

Perhaps one of the resident HVAC experts can help further.

Thanks for the reply tkrussell, the unit AC and heat worked last year and the AC still works today but the heat does not work the blower comes on but the heat does not. The control board blinks and gives the code reversed polarity. I have checked the 3amp fuse on the control board and it is good.

Today is day two without heat and it's starting to get cold, I will call a tech out soon if I can't fix it myself. I just really can't afford it now. Thanks for any help

Thanks for all the help, it was the control board, I purchased to new carrier replacement board for $168 off eBay and within a hour I had heat!! The instructions were extremely detailed and easy to follow. Save myself about $400
