I need clarification.
What does the etc entail?
It has been life experiences that changed my life, not books, movies or songs.
These may have had some influence but none were life changing.

Maybe Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy... or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas... no not really

Etcetera may include other literary works like novels, poems, speeches, radio broadcasts, and other stuff like that. Maybe life-changing is too strong a description. Influential may be better or even just favorite or recommended in terms of personal growth. I want to possibly check these out for my own benefit. Of course, nothing beats experience.

For example, so far mine are the book - If Life is a Game, These are the Rules, the movie - Love Actually, and currently the song - This Ain't a Love Song.

The Road Less Travelled by M.Scott Peck .

Emotional intelligence by Daniel Goldman.

My 9 year old daughters school homework on 'My Family' it made me laugh until I cried.. it really was a child's view of the adult world.

Personal growth depends on your belief system, you are what you think you are!

I don't mean religious belief, but what you believe about yourself and the world around you.

If you think you can achieve you will, your mind will find away to make it true.

If you think something is too hard, your probably right, because that's what YOU think, change the way you think, you change the result.

Personal growth never ends, there is always something to learn about yourself, always something to learn from someone else.

Reading a book will broaden your mind, reading someone's else's beliefs and their opinion can help form your own.

Nothing beats experience, strangly enough in my experience most people grow when they are at their wits end about something, whether it be emotional, mental, money worries or relationship problems.

They learn how not to it the next time as the experience brought too much pain, they do something different to change the result.

In doing so,they learn and grow.
