I am so far from a heating/cooling expert it isn't funny, so please use small, obvious directions if possible. ;)

Our heater was installed in 1982. It usually has trouble switching from heating to AC, but this fall it hasn't wanted to heat up at all. The power source is a fuse screwed into a base on the ceiling. When you screw it in or unscrew it there is a click, but the pilot doesn't light.

I've checked the vents outside and at the point where it connects to the furnace and it isn't being blocked by anything.

I've taken off the black cylinder in the under part and flushed it out. It was dark black at first but eventually ran clear. I flushed out the drain tube, too. And changed the filters.

I've included pics of the furnace:

I read on a website that sometimes you have to remove the furnace sensor and clean it off, but I'm not sure where to find it. If anyone has any ideas on how to get it to start, I'd appreciate hearing them. Thank You!
