I am not very clear about the difference between vitamin A and beta-carotene. But I gather that vitamin A is stored in the liver: enough for at least a year. Does this mean that when taking a beta-carotene supplement, you can have, say, 7 capsules once a week, instead of one a day?
I ask this because I read that, if eaten simultaneously, beta-carotene reduces lutein bioavailability, and I have to take lutein with most meals (for my eyes and skin).

Taking seven in one day as a weekly substitute would be of no benefit, however, taking one per day is more likely to be beneficial because it is absorbed into you system more accurately.

Stop typing in caps - it's the same as shouting and totally unnecessary.

You are incorrect. This is not a drug. This is a vitamin. Pharmacists, nutritionists, several classes of people educated in such things can give this advice.

Yes, you are incorrect. The PHARMACIST and the NURSES have more knowledge than many doctors when it comes to certain medicines.

Taking a weeks supply of vitamins in one day will not help as most of the vitamins will be excreted in the urine and the body will only hold on to what is necessary.

For proper absorption and excretion it is necessary to take them daily for proper benefit.
