Ok, a few weeks ago I went to start my car, and it wouldn't start. I kept trying and it finally started. No trouble for about three weeks, then yesterday the same thing only it wouldn't start at all. I checked and it wasn't getting any spark, so I replaced the rotor and cap. It started up and ran with no problem. It was even running smoother. I did see some oil in the cap, and after some research found that I needed to replace the o ring on the distributor cap, but didn't want to do that by myself and risk not putting the distributor back in right and timing being off. Anyway, now I go to start it again this morning, and same thing. It just cranks and won't kick over. I smell gas so I'm guessing now its flooded, which tells me its getting gas and the fuel pump and filter isn't an issue. The coil was just replaced about 3 months ago. I don't know what else to consider. Any ideas? I'm trying to do this by myself, but what little I do know about cars is not getting me anywhere right now. Thanks so much for any suggestions, you don't know how much it's appreciated. Have a great day :)

You've done a number of good things for your Civic and you are almost there. However, I recommend that you replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM), if the CEL consistently comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II):

Here are some additional maintenance recommendations, in order to keep your Civic on the road for a long time:
