A silo is in the shape of a right circular cylinder with a hemispherical cap has a volume of 935ft^3 and a total height of 25ft.

Determine the radius of the silo.

Also, write a function for the volume of the silo in terms of its radius.

All you need do here is add together the formulas for the volume of a cylinder or radius R and height H plus half the volume of a sphere of radius R and set it equal to 935 ft^3. Then form a second equation that adds the height of the cylinder H to the radius of the top cap R and sets that equal to 25 ft. You now have two equations in two unknowns, and can solve for R.
