I had a leak coming from my diverter handle so I replaced the TA-25A diverter (Symmons TemptrolĀ® Shower and Tub/Shower System S-96-2-231) and it worked for 2 showers (though it was extremely hard to slide from side to side). After the second shower I was unable to divert back to the tub from the shower. I turned off the water, pulled out the new TA-25A, rotated it a bit to better align the holes at the end of the TA-25A. Turned the water back on and tested it. That got it back to the tub spout, but now turning the diverter lever to go back and forth between tub and shower does nothing (granted it turns much easier)... but the diverter is now stuck on the tub and I have no shower function.

Hi AK47...
What color was the diverter spindle that you installed... black or white?
It sounds like you picked up the SHOWER ONLY spindle and you need the TUB and SHOWER spindle...
Let me know the color, OK? I check in periodically throughout the day and will respond ASAP!

Hi Mark,
The spindle was white. I think I may have figured out the problem in the meantime. If I hold (very tightly) the part of the diverter lever that sits within the TA-25A and grab the lever part in my other hand and turn, the lever will go around and around in circles while I am holding the part that sits within the TA-25A spindle completely still. I just bought a replacement diverter lever and confirmed that was the problem. The new spindle was very very stiff/tight when I first put it in... is that normal or could I have put it in improperly the first time around?
Either way, thanks for the input and apologies for the wild goosechase!

Spindle always comes out hard and also installs hard. It is always a good idea to lubricate the ORING on the new spindle with some plumber's grease.
Sounds like you're all set anyway! Good luck!
