Need to transport Sanyo mini splits by pickup to our house in Mexico. Could they lie on their side for a 4 day trip or do they have to be upright?

Ideally, they should always remain in an upright position (just as they are installed). The compressor crankcase contains oil, and failure to keep the unit(s) upright will allow the oil to migrate, potentially damaging the compressor.
