I am a residetn in usa waiting for my usa green card and filing tax returns in usa as a resident .i have rental incomes in india on my residential proery acqired before i came to usa .
.is this income taxable in usa .
Some one told me that as per article 6 of us indo treaty resident of a contracting state ( in my case usa ) having rental income from other contracting state ( in my case india ) is taxable in other state only (in my case india).
I request for expert advise

First, when you post, do NOT post in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! That denotes that you are SHOUTING!

Second, as a residnet alien of the United States, ALL world-wide income is subject to U.S. income taxes, which includes rental income in India. Article 6 of the U.S.-India Tax Treaty applies ONLY IF you are a non-resident alien.

Note that, with legitimate expenses associated with the rental, plus depreciation, there is a better-than-even chance that your rental "income" will in fact be a LOSS on your tax return.
