I just had an interview for an accountant position with a major company, who also owns their own bank. The interview went great but at the end they mentioned a background check and fingerprint would be done. I have diversions for a theft 2 years ago. Do I have any chance of getting this job? What will they see?

Canada?

It's my understanding that the Police entry concerning the arrest remains but there is no disposition or criminal record. If the background check is thorough, the Police entry will be found.

Were you asked about arrests? What did you say?

They will not show up on the police and court record background checks to a private company. Police and the courts could see them.

The only real concern would be if they hired an outside background company that did other internet research, or even in person research at courthouse or other interviews.
But most likely no it will not show up
