I have a hundred year old bungalow. I am painting the exterior this week and the windows are troubling me. On the "bevel" of the wood section, it is disintegrating and chipping off. Is there some kind of "filler" I can use to re-do this section?

One side of most windows the bevel is wood and the other side is putty. Is yours like this and it's the wood for sure? Where do you live?
