I have been told it is a "style" available on MX WORD 2007, but I cannot find it in Word 2010. If it is not built-in to the program I wonder if it can be downloaded and incoporated into the software. Thanks.

I don't see any style named Alphabet as a default style in either 2007 or 2010. Anyone can name their own styles and I suspect that's the case here. Find out what the characteristics of this style are and make your own.

Click in the footer area, under Header & Footer section in the H & F Tools design choose footer. There you will see the alphabet option.

However, this did not work in 2010

Works for me in both 2007 and 2010.
The alphabet footer style is in building blocks.dotx make sure that template is installed on your system.
