Have credit card debt of $5,000, was served papers by lawfirm advising of court date. Papers said must file an answer if I want the judge to hear my side at cout date. I filed an answer. Now Lawfirm is attempting to contact me by phone. I am married - husband works part-time, and I receive SSA. I also have a 66 chevy that runs, but looks horrible. Question is - Will the court allow my SSA check to be garnished? Can this creditor take my ragedy classic car? What will be my defense in court? I just don't have the money to pay after paying for my living expenses. Wife did not sign or use my credit card.

Can a credit card company/Lawyer for the company take my ugly 66 chevy, and can my SSA check be garnished if this was the income I put down to get the credit card?

First, please don't piggyback your question on someone else's. This can cause confusion. I've moved your posts to their own thread.

They probably don't want your car and its unlikely they can go after it for unsecured debt. I don't believe your SSA is garnishable, but any joint bank accounts you might have will be attachable.
