Hello to all.

Have a 35 yr old furnace that was never a prob till this yr.

Pilot lights and stays lit
Thermostats good[both] call for heat
When they call for heat the relay on the aquastat kicks in and the teco pump[replaced 5 yrs ago] starts to turn

Water temp is always at zero aquastate not turning on the gas? This is the main problem

Furnace periodically tries to start but there is only avery small flash[really nothing] near the pilot light

Link to a pic of the[aquastat.

On the left is the relay that has 2 sets of contacts above that is the themostat connections

In the middle is the temp set and section that senses heat.

On the right another relay I thinK and some electrical connections.

Have taped on the gas valve and whatnot.played with the temp setting too retightened electrical connections.

Need to get that water to heat up--it is going to get chilly tomorrow. Does not light even manually--there is a switch n top of the controller auto and manual--both seem to work the same. Both manual and auto kick in the relay, but no heat just the pump.

Thanks.

Sometimes all 5 burners will light and furnace will come on sometimes all burners won't light light causing heat to fail

Thanks Mustang11. It was the thermopile [not thermocouple, but function is the same] that was going fast. It was the original one anda real pain to get out,and getting the new one in was more of a pain. Very close tolerances. The pilot lit and stayed on, but when the 5 burners were meant to come on the gas valve was not open. Replaces it for$30.00 and all seems to be working fine.

Thanks again.
