You had better have your well water tested. You are drinking your well water, right ?

Kitty I am not a plumbing expert. Could it have something to do with your septic tank. Did you have it drained recently, maintained ? Is your septic field compromised ?

No the tank is OK I guess it is this way because it is the sewage line ill just keep pouring water in it from time to time I read this in another thread but it still seams kind of odd to me thanks for replying though

Are you saying that there's standing water in the drain that won't go down? When you wash or flush does it back up. Describe the bugs. Flying or crawling?
Can you furnish us with more details? Regards, Tom

As far as the water going down or not I have no clue except for I just took a gallon of water and poured it in the drain and it did not come back up so I am guessing it went through right? The bugs we have not met on a personal level I just look in the drain and see things moving around. The drain is located in the old washing machine room I have moved the machine upstairs. But if I am correct this drain is only for the over flow if your washer or hot water heater over flows or breaks. I was cleaning up the room today and noticed no bugs but something floating in it so I took a stick and fished it out still not sure what it was but I guess when I stirred the water up the smell came out and it smelled like a toilet full of... I asked a friend and he said it is the sewage line so it has no connection to our well water line. I also read here some where that I just keep now and then pouring water in and some Clorox I have also been reading tons of people have this same issue. Still seams odd to me and grose

Try this. Tonight pour a 1/2gallon of bleach down the drain and let it set overnight. Next morning pour two large pans of boiling water down the drain to flush it out. The boiling water's important so don't skip it. Good luck, Tom
