I'm not sue happy, I just want this company to me more highly regulated or something.
Do I just call unemployment? If I do, will they receive this information?
I have the worst former employer in the history of the world. And for some reason - I worked for them twice.
I'm in Nevada.
I should also mention that my mother worked for them in a different occupation. Sorry it's so long, I'm just not sure which points are valid. This is a period of over a year total. The first employment was 9 months long and the second was 4 months.
For such a small operation, I had seen people come and go like flies on a turd.
In my interview, the person I was replacing came in the room and told me to walk out and never come back. I should've listened.
I never received copies of the contract(s) I signed for employment, and they claim this included a clause to be monitored by video/recording. I do not remember this being part of that packet.
They left the office so much that they were not present at least 4+ hours a day (Broker needs to be present that long during business hours).
They made ill comments about employees in the presence of other employees and clients.
They accused a girl of doing nothing but eating during all of their shifts.
They promoted the use of meth to an employee that had a large workload - in order to stay awake.
They talked about a girl that had bowel issues and needed to go to the restroom more frequently than other employees.
My boss swore she was either: on drugs, pregnant, upset or did not want to do her work - and spread this around the office.
They decided to employ my brother, and when he quit they continued to harass me about him.
They harass people on the weekends on their days off.
They spoke negatively of someone they hired whose first language was NOT English and they had an accent. He drove the company car, which had over 200k miles on it and broke down on the freeway quite a bit. There were huge bubbles on the tires and he called in to the office to let them know of this and they told the employees in the office that he was lying. So he took pictures and sent them with his phone.
After he was fired, the employer stood over the present employees' shoulders and made them write negative letters to unemployment concerning this person so he would not be able to get benefits or anything.
A former employee asked if her job was in jeopardy for any reason because she was being treated in an odd manner, and she was assured she was doing a good job. The next morning she was fired and when she asked for a copy of her hours/paycheck stubs she was denied. Only after an attorney and the unemployment office called did it make a difference. When she came to pick up her last check she was ignored for over 30 minutes and the boss started telling everyone in the office that she was a "dumb c**t."
She later told everyone in the office that she KNEW she was using the company car to go to strip clubs during business hours and solicit sex in the car. This was brought up multiple times.
They paid a notary $500 to notarize something illegally. I guess money wins over honesty. I know, because the notary is a friend of a former co-worker.
They have been to court already for letting someone else use their license for commissions and let them impersonate them.
They have made comments about not hiring people because they are overweight or black.
They have fired people for approved vacations [in writing]. But of course they cite other reasons, but voice concern with them EVER taking time off.
I was in my best friend's wedding as a bridesmaid, but was responsible for helping her set up, get ready, and do the makeup for the bridal party. Because of this, I told them over a month in advance that I would need the day off.
Despite my mother confirming this with them and me giving them advanced notice, they called me to harass me in the middle of it all and to make sure I wasn't lying, and to ask if I would be at work before closing at all.
They refuse to sign anything you bring to them [like the notice that I was in a wedding]. That's their choice.
They told me I was not allowed to talk to anyone outside of the office, especially those fired.
I was told that friendship is not allowed in business.
They fired my friend and made me move to the other office to replace her, causing me to be late every morning on purpose.
I had class at 7 am before school and I made it that way because my job was literally next door. I asked them if I was staying there, they said yes. Less than a week later they moved me across town, so I was constantly late and this accounted for hours out of my paychecks.
They hired a girl to be the receptionist but then told her she had to move to the back. They later told employees this was because she had "meth mouth."
They relocated an employee from California and thus made him sign a lease for one of THEIR properties. They lied to the owner (I heard and I created his lease paperwork) about his employment.
The boss came over to his apartment and did drugs.
He was subsequently fired and they tried to collect his security deposit back from him, and said they would evict him over it. But it is a "relocation fee."
I received an email the other day asking me WHO I AM STILL IN CONTACT WITH.
That is none of their business.
There was a new hire receptionist and she was too smart to deal with them, so she put her 2 weeks in, respectfully.
My boss went off and said, "WHO THE F*** DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?! We don't accept 2 weeks notice from anyone! F****** fire her!" Although she already technically quit. I know it's a right to work state, but talking about employees like that in front of your other staff?
The boss's brother conveniently bought the house RIGHT BEHIND MINE and we share a backyard wall. He pops his head over if he wants. He popped by unannounced all of the time. As did my former boss.
He is now not allowed on my street though, because he is on cocaine and harassed the police officers that lived on my street. Pounding on their doors at 2 am and threatening them. One of them is my next door neighbor, a single female with 3 children.
I find it odd that out of the hundreds and hundreds of cheap homes for sale in my area he would buy the one right behind mine that needed to be completely remodeled. An old lady wanting an extravagant amount of money lived there with her SEVENTEEN CATS before she sold it.
When I was fired, I forgot to give them the key fob because I was so upset. My boss apparently threatened my former supervisor (the one they relocated and fired) because he didn't get the key from me, and he refused to get it and told her to get it herself.
She came to my home and rambled for over an hour, and then had the nerve to tell me I was fired for "threatening to shoot my boss" and "singlehandedly losing them a client" although both are completely false claims.
All of this after they complain about finances and payroll, and make me sign something saying I'm not getting paid overtime but making me stay.
They took years off my mother's life.
They made her return to work much too soon after major surgery. They refused to pay her salary while resting, although a few months prior they gave her written confirmation that they would.
My mom has been in childcare/teaching since my former boss was born, and she had the nerve to accuse my mom of child abuse.
She has her mom working in the office and none of the child's records are complete or correct.
They had a sick infant that needed medical respiratory treatments every 2 hours, and the mother and grandmother called them out on not giving him his treatments. She told the assistant to falsify the documents with her signature saying she gave him treatments when she did not. He could've died.
They harassed my mother after they fired her by calling, texting and dropping by.
And they even have current employees texting me to ask if I have posted negative reviews of their businesses online.
I know better.
And apparently now they are telling prospective employers more information about me (and other employees) than needed.
I am not interested in suing, I want an agency (state government) to look further into their business and what they have done to present/past employees.
Any help is appreciated.
