I recently found two consecutively numbered two dollar bills in an old Bible. Both Series 1953 B with an asterick before the serial number signed by Elizabeth Smith C. Douglas Dillion. Red ink and seal. Both very crisp, but they have been folded in half at one point. Can anyone tell me an approx worth? Thank you.

These are known as Star notes (with the asterisk). They were issued to replace a similar note that had been destroyed when returned to the Federal Reserve Bank. The fold will detract from their value but they are common dates to begin with. Definitely worth more than face value but not by much unless you can find a collector who collects star notes. The other thing that would add value is if it has a low serial number. Best to go to cointalk.com and publish a picture to get a response to a value.
