I installed a outlet and closet light on one new breaker. If I have the light switch on I can flip the breaker on and everything works. If I turn the ligt off I kicks the breaker. I also cannot flip breaker on in this position. It kicks back off. What did I do wrong.

How did you run the cable? Did you go to the outlet first, then to the switch then to the light, or did you go to the switch first then to the outlet and light, or did you go to the outlet then to the light with a switch leg. Or did you go to the light then to the outlet with a switch leg?
