Unable to drive. Stuck at home. I guess I'm feeling sorry for myself, but I've always been there for other people. My son hasn't been to see me and lives just 45 minutes away. Am I just feeling helpless because of my injuries?

Yes, possibly. I am recovering from surgery, and have been off from work for two and a half months. I am going back next week, and can't wait. I see my wife and two young sons more now, but my life is somewhat limited. No interaction with friends and coworkers. I am getting better, and so is my depression.

Hopefully, you will too.

God bless you at this time.

Kind of what Jm hinted at also.

AMHD is a pretty good place to hang out if you need some time 'chatting' with peers.

Answering others questions, concerns sometimes takes the focus away from our needs and direct's it in a more constructive way.

I know all too well the time off stuff, surgeries for this or that, the worst for me was the 2 carpel tunnel surgeries, it made typing almost impossible, but as my friends in here know, you can'y keep a gabber down long, where there's a will... there's a way...

Write more in here, others might add to your thread with their own stories, their take on yours, who knows, missing your son might end up being less traumatic than you have it right now:)

Have a nice day, even though you are house bound, the internet says you are never truly alone:p

Thank you both. It's very nice to have someone else let me know I'm going to make it through this!

You can, and if you reach out to others, they will respond in kind, this place can become quite addictive when you have a lot of down time:)

Welcome aboard Catsysue:D

You'll be just fine. Do like I do, read, start a new hobby, learn a new language, join an online club, or site like this one, meet new friends. I've been studying the Bible more, trying to strengthen my spirituality.

Get a pet that requires very little work, like a fish. Do whatever it is that you want to do. Just don't sit and think about what you CANNOT do.

God bless you.
