If you look to the right of your post, you will find many stories of break ups. They are all threads started by people like you wondering what went wrong and how to either mend, it or move on.

Of course your situation is unique, they all are.

Well here is a story for you.

Me and my ex dated for 4 months or so, and because of circumstance, we went through a lot together, and she was the first to say the words, "i love you"

Eventually, she called me crying and said she was emotionally cheating on me, because she still had feelings for her ex. Of course her ex didn't know this, he moved on and is now engaged.

Well after several days, she literally comes back, crying, begging for another chance, and I gave it to her, on the condition she worked to earn back my trust.

Well she failed, as each time we were supposed to spend time together, she bailed on me to spend time with a single guy friend of hers, a friend who is known for his desperation cause he's never had a date, a kiss, and is a virgin. Then she bails on a friends birthday only to show up halfway through and we had to change plans to accommodate her.

She then leaves to go to North Carolina for two weeks to visit family, who like me by the way.

She comes back with her German cousin, and she hugs me at the airport, and almost literally doesn't let go of me for another two weeks. During that entire time, she says she loves me, she wants to be with me, she sees us together a year from now, and I am the kind of guy she wants to marry.

Being told all that so many times kind of makes a guy happy you know.

We even made plans for a vacation next summer to Germany if we could afford it to see her cousin, and plans to go to national parks during spring break of next year.

The day after I take her to a concert of her favorite band, the Big bad voodoo daddies, she dumps me.

She says she has feelings for me, she cares for me, she just isn't sure if she loves me or not. She says she hasn't been alone since she came to college, she always had a guy with her, and now she wants to take a whole semester off from dating and sex to discover what it is she wants in a relationship. She also said if she wants me again, she will let me know, if she doesn't she will let me know. She even said if she finds someone else she will let me know so its not a shock and surprise to me. Keep all this in mind, she repeats it all again, as you will see below.

I meet her a few days later to pick up my things, and she says the same things again. She is then busy a week and a half cause her family came up here to Montana to visit her, and to meet me. She didn't tell them she dumped me until they arrived here.

I meet her by accident when they leave, and she says the same things again. Less then a week later she gets a new guy, and she never lived up to her promises, I found out on Facebook.

We then get into an argument over text message and kick each other out of our lives. She contacts me a week and a half later, last Sunday to be exact, crying.

She said someone pretended they knew her, and friended her on Facebook, and then started calling her a slut, whore, lier, cheater, and even revealed things about our breakup that only me, her, and my friends knew about.

She thought it was me, but when I told it wasn't, cause I was eating dinner with my family, she believed me. Which is good, since I was telling the truth.

She then says she never cheated on me, and she wants to meet in two weeks to resolve our issues and prove she never cheated. I agree, then I called her yesterday and changed the time to this Sunday cause frankly I am not willing to wait two weeks.

Also the cheating thing, let me explain. The new guy she is with, is a friend of hers and she has been talking to him the entire time her and I dated, she then hooked up with him almost as soon as she dumped me. I accused her of cheating cause there was no way she could have hooked up with him so soon unless she had feelings for him during our relationship, which is emotional cheating. See my point?

Also, emotional cheating was her idea, until I met her I thought cheating only counted physical acts. She told me about emotional cheating when we first started dating.

So that's my story.

From Bozeman Montana.

The thing about breaking up, you never break up with "The One". Break up disqualifies anyone from being "The One", period. So please put things in proper perspective, and you won't feel as bad anymore.
