Hi,
I am feeling pretty hopeless. I am 26 years old and I have recently graduated with my bachelors in international business, and am about to start my MBA. I have always wanted to work in the corporate world. However, when I was 19 I made some major mistakes. As a result, I have four felonies on my record which can't be expunged in the state of Ohio (where I reside and got my record). The charges were pretty ugly, starting with an F2 Robbery charge. I had hoped that with a lot of hard work I could reach my goals. I believed if I had a GPA of 3.7 for the bachelors and an MBA, I would be able to find a job in the corporate world. As far as in which state I would get a job didn't matter, I was hoping to travel a lot anyway... Since I got my record, I haven't actually had to go find a job because I've been employed by my family. The job is in the food industry, and I would be pretty misearable if this is what all of my education and hard work would lead to. Is there any hope for me? I know I will not get a job in the banking, financial, or government fields, and I am not interested in those. I am an attractive, young, ambitiont and smart woman. Is there a corporation which will look part the mistakes I made when I was young and see me for who I am and what an asset I can be? I wouldn't have a problem starting at the bottom and working my way up, as long as there was a way up. Does my future hold years of sending out applications with no results? Or is there hope...

You haven't EVEN looked for work yet, and you have no hope?? That AIN'T a good way to start. Look. It's going to be harder for you to find a job. So, all you have to do is work harder FINDING the job.

1. all jobs are miserable if we don't make something out of it.

2. not sure what food industry, but you know the guy that made KFC went broke several times and only started selling chicken methods out of the trunk of his car because the interstate was closing his business.

3. so get a MBA and if you stay with family business make it a world empire ?

4. start your own business, that is the only real road to wealth and freedom to do what you want anyway.

5. And yes many places may turn you down, so if you are a quitter you don't need to be in international business anyway, since they would chew you up and spit you out
