I want to achieve this look, but look good too, as I realise most of the major girls of the 60s were fairly slim! I am not, I'm a size 18!

Cass Eliot ( spelling ?) from like the mamas and papa's

Della Reese

Are a couple of examples, size had nothing to do with the look, it was a fashion look

Fashion-pictures. Style galleries from the 50s 60s 70s. Free pics of vintage clothing. (http://www.fashion-pictures.com/1963-66/index.php?page=1)

I found this great site, there is a pages counter on the right side of the images.

Loads of pictures of fashion over the 60's.

Finding a style will be easy.

First know what your body type is and work from there.

What's your best feature?

Legs? Arms? Show case your best feature.

Women have been the same down through the ages, small, tall, slim, heavy they all had to find their own personal style in their era.

It was a great time in fashion.

How well I remember those days! -- seems like yesterday.

What might work well for you would be jumpers with various kinds of tops -- mock turtlenecks and other kinds of knit tops, pretty blouses, etc. Jumpers were of every type and color and fabric -- had spaghetti straps or were A-line or were loose or were fitted, were any length. Sweaters or shrugs can be worn with them too in cool/cold weather. Jumpers could be worn nearly everywhere or for any occasion and would look nice no matter what someone's height or weight was. They are easy to sew; I had a closet full of them.
