I have been already partially helped from ATE (great expert and always precise in his answers)on a matter which involves both the US (which ATE answered me already) and the Italian side (looking for an answer).
I will be short.

I'm here on a G1 visa and pay taxes in Italy; at the same time I'm registered at AIRE (Italian Registry)c/o the Consulate General of Italy where it is mandatory for an Italian citizen to register if the stay is longer than 90 days. This registration allows to vote abroad and expedite all the documentation abroad, which is normally handled if being in Italy.

At this point, it seems to be a Non Resident in either country, Italy and US.

I am a Non-Resident in the US because of the G1 visa and thus pay taxes in Italy,and at the same time I am not a resident in Italy because I am registered at AIRE (Italian registry abroad for Italians) because I have been here for more than 90 days.

Am I maybe physically resident here in the US, but for fiscal matters in Italy, even so I am not there?
