Actually there is already a post about lip lightening from member "tinyprettylight", and "lip complexion" seems a common concern. So here Im going to share my experience on 2 lip lightening products.

1. Cherry Pink and Magic Pink
I put these 2 together because they are basically the same thing, with the same claim "brings back your youthful pink in seconds/minutes"

Colour: white
Texture: smooth and creamy; Cherry Pink somehows has an oily texture and that oiliness makes my lips dry up more!
What does it do:turns pink when touches skin (yes, skin, not just lips)
Principle: not sure, may have something to do with oxidation
Price: approx 6-7USD, pretty cheap
Recommendation: DONT BUY THEM! These stuff are ONLY for girls with pale lips who want a healthy tint. They WONT do anything to dark lips besides from leaving a weird "darkish-pink"!
To make it simple- next time you see a product called this pink or that pink with the claim of "...pink in a wink/seconds/minutes", just ignore it.

2. Fresh Up Pinkish Cream
Colour: light yellow
Texture: thick, creamy but drying(here I mean the texture, not it will dry up lips), very hard to apply and never goes on evenly; better do "dabbing" instead of "rubbing" otherwise will make it worse
What does it do: takes away the dark colour - so it really lightens your lips
Principle: guess latic-acid is doing the trick
Price: approx 39USD (this is the current price, usually costs about 50 or so), quite expensive
Recommendation: Highly recommend it in spite of the high price. I was kind of surprised becoz the texture gave me an impression of "can never be absorbed". I tried it on nipples too, great result. But don't believe the claim of "work within 7 days" as it took me more than 1 month to see the fading.
Note: if you were born with dark lips, all this can do is to reach your lightest colour, it WONT give you a light pink (same as skin lightening); if using it on nipples(like me:P), the darkness will gradually return if you stop using it and no maintanence is followed. But I don't think this will happen to lips, at least not for me.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks cici for the review
I've been using licowhite lipgloss from godiva
It smells good but I haven't notice any big chages despite my lips not being really dark.
It has licorice extract, vitamin c and spf 15.
I'll keep trying but it has been over a month.

Hi nubiana

Im sure it will work as long as they did put in sufficient amount of active ingredients. 1-3 months should be normal waiting time to see the effect, as lightening is a gradual process (if it works too fast I will be abit worried :P)

BTW I wasn't born with dark lips, the discoloration was caused by allergy. My GP gave me a tube of cream which I think contained some level of hormone, plus I scratched my lips a lot during that time. Ahhhh such a nightmare >.<
