I don't know why this is posted in money and services. {Moved-<>}

Anyway, IF you live in NY the answer is: "If you become a resident of NYS, you must get a NYS driver license within 30 days and surrender your out-of-state driver license. Normally, you cannot have a NYS driver license and a driver license from another state, but there are exceptions. It is a violation of Federal law to hold more than one commercial driver license (CDL). "

You go into the NY DMV, you take proof that you now live there and you give them your FL license, and they will issue you a new one.

Before going to the DMV, take time to carefully review the web site that Judy KayTee referenced - especially the information about proof of ID that you need to have with you. You must have your social security card plus two forms of ID, such as passport or birth certificate. Other items that reference both your name and SS number (such as an old W2) can be used as well. There is a PDF document that spells out all the details - see: NYS DMV - Forms Download (http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/forms.htm#id44) - and click on "ID-44"
