Last period was July 28. Yesterday she started to have some brown discharge - this morning it has stopped - We had an ultrasound done by a Iraqi OB GYN - she said to take folic acid everyday and something called Gestal "as support for the pregnancy" Is this normal and accepted? I don't want her to take anything that is not traditional accepted medicine. She also gave us some Valipan 5mg tables for craping and pain. Please help me - should she take these meds? I know that folic acid is good but what about the other meds?

Are you sure she said gestal? I couldn't find that on the internet anywhere.

As for the folic acid, how much did she recommend? Is your wife taking a prenatal vitamin? If so, she probably shouldn't take extra folic acid.
