I have installed a RAB 200 stealth outside. I used the existing wires from the previous lights. Now when I turn on the new motion sensor lights, they stay on no matter what settings I have them set for... does not using the red wire in my installation have anything to do with this problem? Does it have to be tested at night only??

With that light you simply wire to the4 black and white tails provided. DO NOT change the factory splices. You ignore the red, unless you are controlling other lights with the sensor.
It sounds like you broke the splices and wired to all the blacks and whites. Did you?
Did you change the settings on the bottom of the unit to your preferences? It's not in "test" is it?

THe black and white power leads from your house go to the black and white leads of the sensor.
The leads from the light that you want to switch get connected:
a/ White from the lamp to the white power and sensor lead;
b/ black from the light to the RED lead from the sensor

I should have mentioned that I was describing the light kit, not the sensor alone being added to existing lights.
Sensorguy is right if adding a sensor as opposed to the complete kit.

I bought the whole kit. I took off the factory splices due to not enough room behind the square plate I transferred everything to. Now, if I put back the factory splices, will it work then? Maybe I should also mention that there is another set of spotlites only( NO MOTION SENSOR ) running on the same circuit( both of those lights I removed, but the circuit is still live) They were coming on also when I turned the lights on, but they really aren"t needed. i can put the factory splices back on, whitew/ white, red w/ red, then re-wire everything again. I believe I don't need to use the red.....only the black to black, white to white, and the ground. Does the red get connected with the black and then sealed off??? ALSO, ( not to sound stupid, but ) what does it mean in the instructions " Pigtail is only used to switch remote or additional light fixtures " I'm at a loss here, I've read the directions 50 times and they seem to contradict themselves. THANKS for helping, you have no idea how crazy this is making me.

The way it is wired from the factory, to keep it simple for DIYers, it keeps all the whites spliced together with a single tail to be connected to the house circuit.
Then the red from the sensor is spliced to the blacks from the lights, but also provides a red tail so you can power other lights off the sensor. Say in your case if the feeds comes to the sensor light first and then over to another light, you can turn that other light on and off via the motion sensor as well.
Typically you just ignore that red tail and leave the factory red/black splice alone.
The single black wire from the sensor goes to the house circuit black.

RAB Sensors all have an excellent owners manual and the quality is the best you can buy. What you did was wire the lights directly to the power, bypassing the sensor completely. THe red lead is switched by the sensor, when you connect your light black wire to the sensor red wire everything should work.
It actually sounds like you might benefit from a electrician's help.
