Make sure you are using a VPN with wireless connection to ensure protected security for documents. Internet Explorer The firm will utilize networking for email, work sharing, research and more. It is always important to secure the network you working with especially for confidentiality purposes.
Cell phone, Blackberry, PDA These devices allow for communication inside and outside of the firm. Through the use of cell phones we can send ingoing and outgoing texts as a subtle means of communication on a case if that person happens to be in a meeting, working, in with a client, etc. These devices can also act as portable calendar, time scheduler, note pad, etc. Allowing us to keep up with scheduling and communication on the go.
Legal or Cliental software, E-discovery These software programs allow you to keep track of your client lists and documentation of notes on those cases. Some software keeps track of the time spent of each case which can be integrated into your billing software for more efficient accounting. E-discovery gives a law firm the tools needed to manage electronically stored information in compliance with court requirements.
