Hello, my mom lives in Fresno Ca, she has a floor heater, on both sides of the wall, probably 1950 ish, makes lots of noise, she is worried about it, pg@e comes out every year to check it, can it be replaced with a new one, and if yes, where does she call ? Thank you. John

What kind of noise is the heater making?? I am assuming that it does not have a fan. So if it does post back and let me know. I also am assuming that the noise that she is talking about is the popping and cracking of the metal expanding and contracting. If that is what she is talking about then she does need to have someone out each fall to have it checked for any cracks in the heat exchanger. Also she need to get a carbon monoxide detector installed somewhere in he hallway or close to the heater.

She can not get a heater just like she has, one that heats on two sides of a wall, she could get one that fits into the floor beside the wall but if would be about a foot away from the wall. She could also get a wall heater that would fit into the wall and put heat into two different rooms. If I can help you more just post and let me know

I have the same experience and I took out the heater and copied the name and e-mailed electricsupplyonline.com and they found the same unit for replacement.
