Can I get some instructions on how to do this properly? It had started to leak at the connection under the sink, and when I went to inspect it it just came apart! I have the parts to replace it. I don't want to call a plumber just for this. It seems like it should be simple but of course is not turning out that way. What steps are involved?

Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Linda,

First there's a tailpiece comimg down from the lavatory drain. This connects to the top of the "J" bend that in turn connects into the trap tail that connects to the wall stub out. What material are we talking about? Metal? Plastic? Which part does your question concern? Looking at the above description , what connection started to leak?
