I really want to know how to dance well.
I'm moderately fit and at the moment I just started joining classes but even though they are "beginner classes" they expect you to know already a few things and they already know moves and stuff but I'm rock bottom beginner. Never danced in my life but I really want to learn to be good but these classes are like "advanced beginners" if you know what I mean...
But since I have no other choice I just have to improve on my own.
So any tips on what I can do or what stuff I should practice by myself at home that would be beneficial to help me learn dancing? This would really help me so much! Thank you.
Additional info: I'm 15 yrs old and a girl. I want to learn hip hop/funk/jazz dance.
Thanks again in advance!

First, Please remove your email address from your post.

If you're in school can you see if your school has a dance program and see if anyone there would be willing to help you get the basics of different dance styles down or help you work on what you're learning in the classes?

If you want something to help you out when you're alone at home look into seeing if you can get your hands on some Dvds that help teach dance. Some of them come in all stages from beginner (you) to advanced. Check out movie stores or even your local library for them.

If you put your heart into it and really want to learn then go for it. Let nothing stop you. And when you're at home by yourself just turn the music up, let your mind go, and let your body feel the music. No one will be there. You'll eventually get it. Don't give up on a goal you want to learn.

Good Luck!
