Hi all,

I have an older Carrier 2 zone AC/heat pump system which I believe needs a control box. The problem started originally when I was not getting any power to my thermostats. I had a repairman look at the system and told me the Weathermaker Control Box was malfunctioning. He hot-wired it to work but now the system is blowing out heat instead of cold air so I had to completely shut the system down.

Please let me know if this is the problem and if it is where can I purchase the part. I do not have a part number on the control box. The only thing I find online which looks like the box I need is ZONEKIT2 but I cannot find anyone who will sell the part unless they install it.

The only model number on the AC/heat pump unit which I find is on the unit outside which is 38BYB036300.

Thanks.

Who knows if it's even available anymore. Since it's 15 years old you might consider replacing.

Here is the manual for your zone control: http://www.docs.hvacpartners.com/idc/groups/public/documents/techlit/zonekit-2si.pdf

Here is a company that makes zone controls: RCS Home Page (http://www.resconsys.com/)

What I would suggest is to dress the part of an HVAC tech. Suitable workclothes and even a hat and pay a visit to the local Carrier distributer. Don't call.
