My 3 year old chaweeweepoo has been acting funny for two days now. She won't move unless you pick her up, and she's really stiff. She doesn't yelp or anything but she looks really sad. And she's shaking more then usual. What could be wrong with her?

Is the dog going to the bathroom regularly? Is the poop of reasonable color and consistency?

I know you won't like to hear it but anytime an animal presents as lethargic and STIFF you need to get the pet to the veterinarian... ;)

It could be something simple or it could be that something got swallowed and is stuck in the intestines... *UGH*

If you ask, the vet. May arrange for a payment plan... depending on what needs to be done.

That's my take. Wait for others with better experience to post on this.. OK?

Not a whole lot to add, Mark. Most Vets will negotiate a payment plan and that's a strange combination of symptoms. I would think she's in pretty serious trouble.

You can also call your vet and ask what he thinks from the description.

Does the dog feel cool? Or hot? Normal?

The description that you gave is hard to diagnose over the internet. Not too many people will be able to help you. A vet does need to see your dog. Call around. Call your local shelter.. A lot of times they will know low cost vet care.. or maybe even have a grant that is available to help dogs in need.

The worse thing to do for your dog right now is to not search for a solution. Your dog is sick. She doesn't feel good and quite honestly if my dog was laying stiff for days.. I'd be absolutely frantic.

You have options. You just need to find them.
