Why can't you use one that's already written? Plus, we haven't heard your voice and wouldn't know how to write a song just for you.

I want to start by producing a single of an original song. There s a recording of me accapella singing part ofdaughtry's home on 4shared.com. Here's the link. HOME ME.wav - 4shared.com - music and mp3 sharing - download (http://www.4shared.com/audio/ViMckEvD/HOME_ME.html)

Have you had any musical/voice training? Do you have money for production of a CD?

One of our experts, Clough, is a musician, and will be on later. I will PM him to join this thread.

Did you like the song?

You have a nice, clear voice with rich tones. Since it was a capella, it wavered a bit here and there and seemed to go off key, but you weren't singing under the best of circumstances. I'm guessing, if you're accompanied, you would sound really great. I'm also guessing certain songs would be better for you than others -- like you'd be a good ballad singer, like Michael Buble or Mel Torme.

I like rock or pop, but you are the expert

I'm not a music expert; Clough is the experienced one. I was in a bunch of choirs over the years and play the piano and know when something is off key or not -- oh, and I watched American Idol religiously this past season. Certainly THAT should give me a few points!

Do you write poetry at all? Clough might ask you that.

Elvis's voice is a little like yours in pitch and tone. Did you ever sing any of his songs? "Love Me Tender" maybe?

Hi, jaydagin!

Wondergirl summoned me to your thread. I do thank her for doing that!

I've listened to the first sound file. Very nice, smooth! Can be hard to have a reference for pitch sometimes when singing without some sort of instrumental accompaniment.

For what sort of events have you already sung? Also, if you want your own song that you can call your own, do you have ideas for the lyrics as well as the music, please?

Thanks!

I have sung at small parties but nothing major. I would love a pop-rock type song. The songi have I mid is about breaking up but still wanting to be friends. Is that good?

If you can put together more ideas for lyrics, I'm sure that Wondergirl and I can help you with that, if she doesn't mind my volunteering her. We don't just simply put together songs for people here. We can however assist you with learning how to write a song that you can then call your own.

Even if you just put down four or five lines of ideas for lyrics, that would help. What you write doesn't have to be perfect or complete. Simple ideas would be the best.

A song can go through many revisions before it's accepted by all of those who are a part of its production. Even the biggest names in entertainment history will most likely have a number of people with whom they work when writing and producing their songs. It can take a tremendous amount of teamwork and labor to do that.
