I was diagnosed with HPV, I no longer have the cancerous cells but I am starting a new relationship and I am concern to pass it on to my new partner. I got it from my previous partner, we were together for over 2 years and we ALWAYS used condoms. What is the recommendation on sex with HPV?

You don't have to worry about having sex, it is only the outbreak that is the dealbreaker. Here is a website I recommend, I hope you can access because it answers commonly asked questions about HPV and sex. I hope you can access the link specifically directing you to the HPV and sex articles, if you cant, cut and paste.

There are over 70 strains of HPV. Some have a low risk of transmittal, but some are extremely contagious.

To be on the safe side, you should ask your physician about which variety you have and how contagious it is.

Also, as a preventative measure I would suggest using condoms.
