Screened in porch has geo deck or some composite deck. Wanting to lay slate tile and thinking about putting 1/2" DuRock over the decking and then laying the slate. Can this be done or amy I going to have to rip the decking off and start over?

I am working with slate tile now, and find I just have to look at it for it to crumble on the corners or split. The only problem with the geo or composite is it shifts and this will split the slate. You can't have a lot of 'give' or movement with slate that is the only problem. A deck is a deck and susceptible to land shifts, which means no matter what you do to stabilize, it won't be stabilized. Do you get what I mean. You may have to pick another more resilient and thicker commodity, and there are more out there that are attractive (I myself like slate for the colour variance). But in your case, what you have to do to stabilize will cost more then the putting down the slate.
