OK I'm 16 and my husband is 21 and he keeps saying that since we are married that he is responsible for me I would like to find out if that is true or not? And yes I have a year old son with him...

What do you mean by responsible for you? Financially?

The age of consent is 16 - has he been charged with having sex with a minor (you say your child is one year old)?

He's your husband so, yes, he's responsible for you unless there's some circumstance I do not understand.

It depends on what you define as responsible. In a marriage, each partner bears some responsibility for the other. Traditionally, he is responsible to support you and especially your child. In some areas, he can be held responsible for your debts.

So to answer your question, we would need to know the context and what area you live in.

If you are 16 with a 1 yr old child, it sounds like he may have been given a choice to marry you or go to jail for statutory rape. I'm assuming your parents agreed to (or forced) the marriage because of your pregnancy.
