I thought I had Precordial Catch Syndrome because I have stabbing pains in my left side near my rib, these pains intensify when I inhale and cause me to stop what I am doing, although I am beginning to get them near my right rib and breast bone, is this still Precordial Catch Syndrome? I am 11 years old and normal weight. If it is something else please reply and if it is still PCS then could you help with some things to help the pain... Please help.
Thanks.

I am so sorry but it seems like the only way to make it pass is to bear the intense pain and breathe in deeply until you feel a pop. It's sucks so badly and I am feeling it right now! It hurts so bad my eyes water! I'm 23 and I've had this since I was your age. Ugh, I am so sorry. Someone said that drinking a glass of hot water helps but I haven't tried that yet. I'm under my second "spell" for the day and I am hating it :( But ignoring the pain and breathing in deeply to "release" the pain is worth it because then it's gone!

You seem very concerned about your health. Rather than coming to an anonymous website, it's best that you discuss your concerns with your parents.

Hi J_9

Don't worry I was just bored so I asked questions! I am not concerned just wondering!

Cya, thanks.

It is not good to come on a site like this and post these questions as if they are real illnesses that you are afflicted with. We are adults here trying to help people with real problems. We are not bored children who are playing around.

Ok, I am not making it up but I won't do it unless I am concerned. Sorry.

Umm.. I am going to delete my account, because I don't think I have any more questions... how do you delete questions, I will delete all health questions. Please reply.

I'm 52, and I still get PCS every so often, and have since I was a teen. It hurts like stink while it's happening, but if you take a very deep, full breath it causes the muscles that are cramping to 'pop,' or release, and the pain is instantly gone.

Something I've found through my own experimentation that helps when PCS strikes: grab your left ribcage with your right hand, and hold tight while pulling your left arm in tight against your body. Then breathe in deep and fast. It'll help with the pain as you work out the cramp that's causing the pain.

PCS won't kill you, regardless of the panicked feeling you get when it hits. It's NOT cardiac-related, in fact there's no known cause or treatment, and is considered non-life-threatening. It's just one of those minor annoyances that those of us that have it need to put up with every so often.
