A company uses the function C(x)=0.01x2-1.2x+1000 to model the unit cost in dollars for producing x motors. Answer the following question; 1: For what number of motors is the unit cost at its minimum? 2: What happens if you produce 1 motor more or 1 motor less what the number of motors found in the first part of the problem. Discuss the effect of this change with your learning team.

We're not going to do your homework for you. But here's a hint:
1. Take the derivative of the cost function with respect to x, then set it to zero. This will give you either a local minimum or maximum. To make sure it's a minimum, evaluate the 2nd derivative for this value of x; it should be a positive number if this point represents a minimum.
For the second part compare the C functions for the value x you found in the first part to the value of x+1 and x-1. How does cost change by making one more or less?
