I replaced the engine on my MTD 13.5hp briggs put deck back now there is too much slack on deck belt PTO won't engage

I replaced the engine on my MTD 13.5hp briggs put deck back now there is to much slack on deck belt PTO wont engage
Did you replace the belt? If you did are you sure you have the right belt? The right pulley on the new engine. The right engine?
Would need MTD Build numbers, and B&S engine numbers from both engines for cross reference.

The mtd model is 13ac762f729
The old engine number was 21b807
The newq engine is 21b977
I used the same pulley on the engine as this was also a 1" pulley

What I found so far is the 21b807 crosses to a 21b907 not the 21b977. There are some differences, mainly horsepower.

You sure you routed the belt correctly, is this it?
