Have a-06 PSD 6.0 in a King Ranch FX4. Love the truck, but at 90K miles the EGR, engine oil cooler, and head gaskets all went. This while towing (7K horse trailer goose neck) and only while pulling a grade. Dealer is repairing all under warranty, however there is only 10K left on warranty. They are offerring to sell me another 100K ext war, but they want $2500 for this. Question: What experience has anybody had with '06, at higher miles. (I have a 2000 model 7.3 with almost 400K on it). And, after the repairs are made now, what likelihood of repeat failures?

Take the warranty--it increases your operating costs 2.5 cents per mile. Diesel repairs are not cheap.

DOOOO it NOWW. I'm a mechanic and I think ford 6.0Ls are the most garbage engine there was and is. This is strictly from a maintinance standpoint though. They go OK... not s good as a duramax though
