My Chinese wife and I came into our marriage with separate properties (condo in China, condo in the US). I am refinancing and to speed up the process amongst other things, my wife is being asked to sign an interspousal transfer grant deed, where she apparently relinquishes her claim to my condo under community property law. Now the question is, is there something similar to this that I could use to relinquish my interest under US law to her property in China? Can we just copy the pertinent language from my document, put down her property record numbers in place of mine, and sign in front of a notary? Will that have legal standing in US city/state/federal courts? Given that her property is in China, does US law even enter the picture?

This is a very complicated situation. It should not be attempted without a lawyer on both sides of the water. Recent changes in the law allow for certain things to occur but the basics of it seem to boil down to "use rights" on the China side. And ownership registration.

There is a start for personal knowlage and to understand what is going on.
