I may not be asking correctly. But is the amount of electrical svc to an average home 200 amps [or more]? If that is correct, does this mean, anything electrical in that house pulls its current from the original 200 amps? Thanks.

60-400 amp services can be found. Hard to say what's normal. New construction, likely the service is likely 150 or 200 A.

What it means is that 200 A @ 240 Volts can be safely delivered to the panel without appreciable voltage drop (~5%).

The power company generates a variable amount of power to meet the needs of it's customers.
