So I have had ALL symptoms of pregnancy except for morning sickness.. I had sex July 16th the day after my period ended. A week later I began to get headaches and was very tired. Then about a week later my boobs were really sore more sore then normal and I began to high slight cramps. A couple of days ago the cramps stopped and my boobs wernt as sore but I was super tired and still having headaches/ dizzy. Today I began to get mild cramps, a little but more intense then the cramps I got before that. Then I started to spot. The cramping went from non stop for a few hours to now no cramps but I'm still spotting. If this is my period I would be 6 days early. Btw I was on Birthcontrol when I had sex July 16th but I was missing days and I didn't take it the same time each day. When I started to think I was pregnant with all the symptoms I stopped taking the birth control. I didn't take 2 of the regular ones and 2 of the sugar pill ones. Can my period become irregular from just this? I have never had an irregular period, I ALWAYS get my period the same day of each month. I get my blood test results of the pregnancy test Monday but until then I'm thinking I might have just gotten my period. Or could it be implantation bleeding/ spotting?

Hello,

The blood test will determine that for you. It's really something that we can't answer.

In the past when I was on the pill, if I skipped days and wasn't consistent, my periods would be irregular.

That was me though.
Wait for the test on Monday.

Good luck.

Funny thing about "pregnancy symptoms" is that they are nearly identical to pms. And not taking all of your pills (except for the sugar pills, those are inactive and are more to help you stay in the habit of taking it every day) can throw your cycle off. So while it's totally possible you are pregnant (like any time you have sex), I wouldn't assume so until the tests came back.

I'm not saying that its irrelevant that you have been regular... but it just isn't enough reason to call pregnant vs not.

So many things can make a person skip, and it can be one big event or the sum of many small things. Even regular and predictable cycles are subject to the whims of physiology off balance. It happens. Hormone levels can change for so many reasons.

And of course, pregnancy is one.

As has been stated... the ONLY reliable answer will come with time and testing.

Pregnancy symptoms are not reliable at all. I've had a few of them, and I'm a man. They are presumptive signs. Maybe reasons to test... but never to diagnose. OK... not reliable at all might be a touch bit far, but I dare ja to find me a doctor who will diagnose based on symptoms alone and put their job on the line for those symptoms. Not going to happen.

The ER calls over to the lab I work in for pregnancy test results because they depend on that for a first line diagnosis. Even better to have that US fetal heart tone or visualization.

All you know is your cycle is irregular, that its uncommon for you, that you might be pregnant or you might not.

And, of course, even then... the negative test only means failure to detect threshold levels of hormone... not that you aren't.

So... really wish I could give a definitive answer without testing. You know you have reason to test. Stress alone from worrying about pregnancy can cause a missed period.
