My toilet fluidmaster float has the locking mechanism on it and it will not fill my tank without me manually hitting the mechanism.

For a Fluid Master ballcock you can adjust the level by squeezing the steel piece on vertical wire arm at the side, pulling the can up and down down. Pull the can up to raise the tank level and down to lower it. Make sure the can float is loose and can travel up and down freely. Good luck, Tom

Hi Bethdawgs41... Sounds like you have a LEAK SENTRY fluidmaster valve... little cup with a chain that locks the float out when you have a leak at the flapper.

Here, when the flapper develops a leak the cup/chain mechanism engages and shuts out the fill valve.

To fix this you will need to replace the flapper with a new flapper... may even need to replace the flush valve assembly. Then you should be able to reset the cup/chain mechanism and be done with this once and for all... :)

Let me know if you have any questions...
