View Full Version : 1990 honda won't crank the hole car has power except the ignition

I have a 1990 honda with a d16a6 block and a d16z6 head I was driving and I saw an open wire spark and my car died I have all power to everything except my ignition but can find any relays or fuses does anyone know what could be wrong

. Does the CEL come on and go off normally, when you turn the ignition switch to ON (Position II)?

I checked them on the side of the road before I had it towed and they all looked good.. and yes the car won't crank I tried to pop start it but that didn't work.. and no light come on on the dash at all

If the Check Engine Light does not function properly and the starter motor does not crank, then you have something fundamentally wrong. Be sure to test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter. Visual inspection is NOT good enough. I would also remove and fully charge the battery. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Be sure to clean all battery terminal and cable connections. Check the battery cables for unseen corrosion.

What open wire spark did you see?

OK sweet it was a main 50 amp fuse under the hood
