I'm not entirely sure this is in the right section. If not, I apologize.

This question is for my cousin.

My cousin is a Canadian citizen, with a German father. He has lived and worked in Japan for over 14 years.

He recently got a job offer in England and was told that German citizenship and a German passport would make things easier for him, as he wouldn't require a green card if he had this.

He also found out that since his father is a German citizen, he can have dual citizenship Canadian/German. He has no idea how to go about this.

Any information would be helpful. He called me about this because I'm German, living in Canada, but I have no idea how to help him obtain his dual citizenship.

Thanks in advance.

He must contact the nearest German Embassy with all documents that prove he is German citizen.

Hope these links help... my German is so rusty now:
