Recently, the dryer started acting up. It had started shutting off in the middle of cycles, leaving clothes still damp. I had someone come over and take a look. The repair lady gave the dryer a good clean and said it was probably just dirty. Dryer is still acting up.

After some reading online, I took the front panel off the dryer and tested the Thermal fuse.. still good. Repair lady wants to order new Thermostats.. which for me does not add up. With the heating element shut off (air fluff mode), the dryer still shuts down during a cycle. Once it shuts down, it will not start back up again until the motor has cooled.. (after about an hour or so) OR.. if I give the drum a spin and hit the start button.

I am convinced that there is an issue with the motor.. BUT.. before I jump into it, I wanted to get some feedback from someone else. If it is the motor.. is it best to try to repair it or just buy a new one? Also, if it is the motor, what is the very annoying and buzz which is heard when the START button is first depressed? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards,

Tim
