Well basically this question really needs a bit of background information. Here goes. I am currently a part time non professional model for a local modelling agency, I have got quite an impressive range of professional photographs done for my portfolio, including head shots, fashion and umm how do I put it, nude art (not showing any bits).

The modelling agency that I am with is well established and is bassed all over the country, the owner is a proffessional and has gained a great clientell and is known to all professional photographers.

Recently I was approached by a so called photographer (I won't give out any names) but he has asked if I would be interested in going to his home to do a session where he would like to have some nude pictures taken, I am quite worried about this as he is a retired gentleman and lives a fair few miles away from where I live. I have checked out his website and cannot see any images of people, they are of mostly of landscapes and miscellaneous items.

He has also asked me to bring a chaperone/minder with me which has slightly eased my mind about this but I'm still pretty sceptical about doing this.

Should I go ahead with the photo session or not?

First and foremost, I would not recommend you do anything you don't feel comfortable with. Secondly, before I read the next to last sentence, I was already thinking I would recommend you to take someone you trust with you.

Do you know what the photos are for? Perhaps you should have a contract that states what they can be used for and what they CAN'T be used for.

There was one glaring thing missing from your post, the purpose of the pics. Does he want these pics for his own entertainment (some people get off that way) or is he doing a book or working for a porn site or what?

You need to find out where and how these pics will be used and get it in writing. If the use of the pics statisfies you and the pay is sufficient (I'm assuming this is a paid job), then go ahead as long as you have a chaperone (someone big and burly) ;)

The first order of business check with the union many photographers are members of a union ask their opinion about the photographer.

And yes, take more than a chaperon - take a serious looking chaperon with you someone that knows you. While you are out on an outing do no nudes. (That includes semi nudes, too) such requests are asked before you are assigned the assignment. If, asked on assignment to do some nudes... do remind the photographer about your contact with the agency and his client... then go about your job looking pretty. Use self controls for you have back up

Listen to your contact and yourself.

Ask other models most will and can not wait to tell you something about anyone. Listen for what makes sense. Make this a habit... Always go with a chaperon - having a chaperon will not hurt. Most professional want to get paid and will do nothing that will shorten that future pay check.

But, always be aware there are predators out there waiting for a innocent looking woman or girl that want it ( being a star or that super model)so bad that they will do just about anything to get. Just put visual limits on yourself. Disney does not do nudes... period!

Photography is an expensive job and hobby. So, do not waste the professionals time for, word will travel just how professional or unprofessional you are. Look chic and be earthy.

*note a concern about the photo you used: If, you are using sepia shots just use the ones that focus on the face with your neck elongated and angled... sepia means chic, elegant,etc...

If your not 100% comfortable with it then don't do it! Simple as that!

Agreed, if you don't feel good about it, don't.

Next why is it not being done in his office and studio. Nude photos are not something that is done in back rooms, if this is real photo art, then it is done in his real studio, with his real equipment.

Next I would never do any nude photos without asking permission from your agent and modeling agency.
